Readers of “The Press” responded generously after an article in last Tuesday’s travel page drew attention to a shortfall in the Koru Care fund being raised to send a group of children suffering from lifethreatening diseases to Los Angeles next month.
The chairman of the Koru Care Trust, Mrs Wilma Gillian, said on Friday that more than $3OOO had been donated as a result of the article. “We are extremely grateful to all those very kind people,” she said. “Their help has taken a lot of pressure off the Trust.”
Donations can still be forwarded to Koru Care Trust, P.O. Box 14-158, Christchurch Airport.
