Blue Star Line, of London, and Overseas Freezer Operations, of Hamburg, the reefer division of Hamburg-Sud, will join forces by combining their respective fleets of reefer tonnage. From January 1 the two companies will trade under the name of Star Reefers, whose fleet will control initially about 25 vessels ranging from 9938 cubic metres to 17,272 cubic metres of predominantly pallet-friendly tonnage. It is the aim of the companies to offer more flexible schedules giving improved service to their customers as well as enabling them to enter new areas of expansion.
