Proposal ‘fantastic’
A proposal to close Jubilee Hospital and put some patients in the private sector has been welcomed by the Private Hospitals’ Association. The proposal was an excellent idea, said the chairman of the Canterbury branch of the association, Mr Mike Prenderville, yesterday. “It is the most fantastic news I
have heard all year — it would help both the public and the private sector.” Private hospitals in Canterbury were suffering at the moment, with too many vacancies, said Mr Prenderville. Taking some patients from the public sector would help solve, this problem, he said.
