Shuttle launch may be delayed
NZPA-Reuter Cape Canaveral NASA officials said yesterday that they might delay tomorrow’s scheduled launch of the space shuttle Discovery while they check a satellite launching rocket on board. The officials said a small cut was discovered on the O-ring of a satellite booster rocket being prepared for a future flight. NASA officials said they doubted they would find the same problem on the SUSIOO million satellite. Parker Counts, a NASA satellite manager, said engineers had to conduct a series of tests before they could be sure the problem was not present on Discovery’s satellite.
