NZPA-AAP Melbourne The Sydney trainer, Jack Denham, sprung a surprise on Tuesday when he did not pay up for classy four-year-old, Flotilla, as a second acceptor for in the sAustl million ($1.27 million) Caulfield Cup (2400 m Flotilla shortened to the
second line of betting for the Cup after an excellent second to Our Poetic Prince in the record breaking weight-for-age Feehan Stakes (1600 m at Moonee Valley last Saturday. He was 10-1 behind the Colin Hayes-trained Authaal.
Denham has instead decided to stick with the imported stayer, Natski, as his Caulfield Cup hope. Natski finished an unlucky fifth in the Newcastle Gold Cup (2300 m on September 14 and last Saturday scored a decisive win over Zamakima in the Queen’s Cup (2400 m at Randwick.
