Nurses supportive
The New Zealand Nurses’ Association voted unanimously today to send a message supporting the Hokitika and Reefton communities in their effort to save their hospitals from closing. The telegram sent to the Mayor of Hokitika said: “The New Zealand Nurses’ Association conference in session at Wellington extends good wishes and solidarity to the people of Hokitika and Reefton in their struggle to provide a high standard of health services to the people in their region.” A copy was sent to the acting general manager of the West Coast Hospital Board.
