Situations Vacant Situations Vacant REGIONAL SEWING ADVISER SOUTH EAST ASIA LOCATION — MANILA Applications are invited from Personnel experienced in sewing machine and stitching technology for the position of a Regional Sewing Adviser for the Asia Pacific Region for Tootai Thread Pic. The successful applicant will be required to work with our present Regional Adviser as part of an expanding team, and would be required to commence as soon as practicable in 1988. We would envisage that ony those with experience in the Garment Industry, and having a background as a qualified mechanic, would have the required skill levels. The position involves extensive travelling throughout the East and the successful applicant would be away from his Manila base for considerable periods of time. As stated the location will be in the Philippines and all location costs and expenses would be borne by the Company, as would cost of housing, sickness benefits and transport. A salary commensurate with the responsibilities of the position would be paid, together with appropriate Leave entitlements. The position involves liaison with the Production Units of the Company, which are situated throughout seven different countries in the Region, and assisting Major Users of Group Thread products in the Garment and Footwear Industries throughout the area. This would involve providing “in the field” technical support to the Sales and Marketing Team of each Company throughout the Region and the ability to communicate with Management and Production people of varied Ethnic backgrounds, and supervision of “in house” training courses, is a prime requisite. The Applicant would need to be well versed in modern sewing machine technology and have experience of stitching techniques, although some training in this area will be given.
