Methven inquiries
Paul Young, the driver of The Swinger, which finished fourth in the Marawhiti Pace at the Methven Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday, was fined $5O for excessive use of the whip. Prime Rate, which ran out badly at the start of the National Bloodstock Pace, checking Lanielle, was declared unruly from standing starts. This mare was earlier made unruly from mobile starts.
Kenleigh Lass, which broke at the start and with 900 m to run in the Marawhiti Pace, and That’s It, which broke in the Briden Trot, were declared ineligible to race again until they trial twice to the satisfaction of the stewards.
