Sniper kills himself
NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles A sniper apparently committed suicide yesterday after firing a shotgun at passing cars and wounding at least five people, the police said. According to police, the sniper began firing from a home in West Los Angeles shortly before midnight. He even shot at a police helicopter hovering over-
head. When a special police unit moved in on the home, they found the suspect dead, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The identity of the man was not immediately available. The police said one of the victims was in a critical condition. Another victim, Randy
Kenner, told reporters he was driving home with his wife when “all of a sudden, next thing I know two bullets went through our window.” “I said to my wife, ‘Get down, get down.’ Two more bullets went through the door and that’s when I got shot. They grazed my arm and my leg.”
