Dead man named

Gisborne police have released the name of the man whose body was found in a house at the end of Thursday’s major armed offenders operation on the Mahia Peninsula, near Wairoa. He was John Hone Paul, in his mid-20s and a resident in the house. Police said he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.—PA.
