Ratana Cup retained
The Canterbury Maoris rugby team has retained the Ratana Cup for the 1988 season. The final challenge was to have come from Southland Maoris at Rugby Park today, but Southland has had to waive its challenge because of other rugby commitments. Instead Canterbury Maoris will complete its programme with a match against South Canterbury and Mid-Canterbury Maoris Combined XV at Ashburton today. • Inside sport: Pages 28-31, 41, 42
