THE POSITION: The market gardening operation is required to effectively support the well established wholesale marketing and food processing operations. The owner now requires the services of a Farm Manager so that he can concentrate his efforts in overall growth of the business. The Farm Manager will be fully resposnible for planning, planting and maintaining large scale strawberry and some mixed vegetable crops. The immediate task will be to take control of currently growing crops and to subsequently develop and implement an innovative improvement programme for this already well equipped operation. A comfortable, well maintained 3 bdrm home, is available on the property at a reasonable rent. It is located within walking distance of shops, school and transport. THE PERSON: The successful applicant will have had considerable experience in a similar farming operation and will be a self starter able to work with a minimum of supervision. Qualifications in Horticulture or Agriculture are preferred, but at least equal emphasis will be placed on a successful track record in previous positions. Hands on ability to undertake normal farm maintenance work is also a prerequisite. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
