EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Wellington Based The Association, representing fishing industry members throughout the country is committed to expanding and enhancing the commercial and technical development of the catching, processing and export sectors of the Fishing Industry. Through this commitment the performance of the Fishing Industry, as reflected in its export performance, is impressive. Since 1980 exports have increased by over 50% in volume and by over 300% in value, and is now the countries 4th largest export earner. The Industry plays a,vital role. exerting influence on export earnings and on employment opportunities throughout the country. It has a close liaison and interaction with various Government agencies. On behalf of the Association we invite applications for the position of Executive Director. The appointee, reporting to a National Council, will be responsible for the activities of the Association and ■ Enhancing lines of communication between all relevant sectors of the Industry and promote the Association’s viewpoint. ■ Extending effective media and public relations activities. ■ Maintaining liaison between Association members both on an individual basis and in their special interest groups. Applicants preferably should have an understanding of the major changes and challenges associated with the Fishing Industry. They must have a high degree of communication skills, a broad business background, and, preferably, experience in the food processing and export industry.
