Spain, Brazil showdown
NZPA-Reuter Seoul Spain, trailing by 13' points in the first half, overcame Canada, 94-84, yesterday to set up a showdown against Brazil in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament. The Brazilians, led by scoring machine Oscar Schmidt’s 39 points, routed Egypt, 138-85, to equal Spain’s 3-1 record going into their match today. Mhe winner will°linish
second in group B behind the United States and face group A’s third team, likely to be Australia, in Monday’s quarter-finals. The losers will face the Soviet Union barring further upsets. in the first half pulled Spain close after it had fallen behind, 38-25. At the break Canada, led, 5145. The winner scored 11 of the first 13 points of the second half to take the lead. Only Tilleman kept Canada in the game. ' He scored 23 successive points for Canada, including seven three-pointers. Tilleman finished with 37 points and Pasquale had 19, all in the first half.
