Open day for Arts Centre
The Arts Centre in Christchurch will hold its annual open day on the week-end of October 1 and 2. The open day will enable people to see areas of the Arts Centre that were not always open to the public, including the
Townsend Observatory, the Great Hall, Rutherford’s Den and the backstage area of the Court Theatre. The Southern Ballet and Dance Theatre will be open in the afternoon and people will be able to watch the rehearsals for
the next production. The Summer Market, with a wide variety of stalls, will begin its season that week-end. Entertainment will also be provided by the Christchurch School of Instrumental Music, clowns, jugglers, buskers and dancers.
