Hold sought on report
PA Auckland The Auckland Hospital Board is trying to stop the release of the latest report damning its standards of care. The board’s senior officers are believed to be seeking a High Court injunction to prevent publication of the Mason report. The board’s general manager, Mr lan Campbell, declined to comment yesterday, but the board’s solicitor, Meredith Connell, confirmed it was “acting on the x matter.”-It is thought a final decision will not be made before early next week. The report is the sixteenth inquiry, working party or investigation into standards of psychiatric care in Auckland since 1971. Ms Susan Wauchop, press secretary for the Minister of Health, Mr Caygill, said it was hoped the report would be released next week. A revised format was being looked at by the Crown Law Office.
