PA Wellington Bets with the Totalisator Agency Board at the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s meeting yesterday totalled $2,924,982 (win and place $1,580,545, quineilas $611,092, doubles $137,705, trifectas $467,201, trebles $128,439). This was a decrease of $213,062 on last year’s total. On-course bets totalled $449,619 (down $93,244). Bets with the T.A.B. on yesterday’s Winfield Gold Cup, at Newcastle, totalled $130,570 (win and place $53,873, quineilas $23,545, trifectas $53,152). This was a decrease of $13,845 on last year’s total.
