Oil price drop countered

The fall in the oil price is being more than countered in Petrocorp trading by the rise in price of methanol, Mr Hugh Fletcher said. The methanol plant was almost at the scrap-value point 18 months ago when the Government was thinking of selling Petrocorp. World over-production, especially from Third World countries such as Indonesia, had lowered the price dramatically. However, the price has risen the equivalent of about SNZ2OM for Petrocorp.
