Competition format
The Canterbury Rugby Union’s competition committee will submit its format for next season’s senior competition to the management committee at its meeting next Tuesday evening. Although the Canterbury union has met with presidents and captains from the clubs and discussed." the proposed format for next season, the situation, remains confused among some clubs,-according to the presidents and club captains committee. That committee has advised the Canterbury union that it was confused about the promotion-relegation clause
especially and it was to hold another meeting in October. '■"< Interest in the > national . championship match .between Canterbury and Otago at Lancaster Park on Saturday was slowly building, the chairman of the ticketing committee, Mr Gerald Wilson, reported. He said that seats in the No. 2 and No. 3 stands were available and could be bought from the union’s offices atthe park. Because of the construction underway bn the embankment, the No. 5 stand will be able to be used by embankment patrons if they wished. - l ;
