Defending champion in superb form

The defending champion, Steve Robertson, of Wellington, was again in superb form on the second day of section play in the Lion Brown New Zealand snooker championships at the Richmond Working Men’s Club yesterday. Robertson wasted no time in downing Darcy Boyce, of Waikato, 3-1, with breaks of 65 and 73. Equally impressive yesterday was the tournament favourite, Harry Haenga, of Wellington, who did not concede a frame to Jim Gantley (Auckland).
