Camper leaves caravan
A north-west gale which swept through Hanmer Springs early yesterday saw one camper abandon his caravan for fear it would overturn. Constable Peter Gilfedder, of Hanmer Springs, said the wind buffeted campers at the Pines Camping ' \Ground^. A formerly the Hanmer Domain. ■ “They spent a few anxious hours in gale-force conditions to the extent that one man abandoned his caravan and parked his car in the middle of the football field.” He spent, the night in the vehicle. However, the police had no report of damage.
