PA Wellington The Prime Minister, Mr Lange, believes Saturday’s Olympic opening ceremony in Seoul, South Korea, will be one of the "proudest and most memorable events” in the lives of the New Zealand team. In a good luck message to the team, Mr Lange said those in the contingent were privileged to represent their country and they carried on a fine New Zealand tradition. “I sincerely hope that the long hours, days and years of intense physical training and mental preparation will enable you to peak and excel at whichever event you are representing us in,” the message said. “You will be competing with the best athletes the world has to offer. Medals obviously cannot go to all, but that isn’t necessarily so important. As you strive for athletic excellence and give of your best, all New Zealand will be proud. Indeed, the whole country will be watching and willing each and every one of. vou to victory.” T ' .
