Special showroom facilities
The changing face of commercial building and the deep involvement of architects and quantity surveyors in the selection of carpets, wall coverings, soft furnishings and colour co-ordination has seen Reese Flooring incorporate special facilities into its showrooms. Reese Flooring has two showrooms — the normal showroom expected in similar businesses, and a special “white room.” The white room has a two-fold purpose of being completely private where commercial clients ' can discuss, compare and decide on their needs in total privacy while the neutral white walls of the room make fabric and colour comparisons so much easier. The showrooms and sales staff are the very key to the success of the business. Leo Forbes (manager): Leo has over 30 years experience in the flooring trade with the company. He started as a lino layer and has been involved in
all aspects of the trade. Henry (Tommy) Thompson (senior contracts executive): Has also had over 30 years experience with the firm and, like Leo, began as a lino layer. Along with Leo, he is responsible for calculating and overseeing the large tenders ana contracts the firm handles. Brendan Maguire: Brendan is responsible for all the layers employed or contracted by the firm. He ensures work is up to schedule and. also supervises the use of the correct adhesives for the many different jobs. With over 14 years experience as a commercial vinyl layer he is well qualified. Debbie Harrison: A graduate of the Christchurch Polytechnic, she has a Certificate of Interior Decoration and Design. Where requested she will work alongside the architects and quantity surveyors or direct with the client in selecting fabrics, soft furnishings, colour design and colour coordination.
Daniel Reese: Daniel has been with Reese Bros Ltd for nine years, half of this time with Reese Building Supplies as a contract supervisor and sales representative. With his knowledge of the building trade and practical experience as a vinyl layer and flooring measurer he is an integral part of the Contracts Executive with the new Reese Flooring team. David Fine: A fully qualified carpet planner and installer with six years carpet installation experience and two years in the commercial flooring field, David has been with the company for one year. Gerald Hennsley (warehouse manager): With the company for 20 years, Gerald is responsible for handling all incoming goods such as vinyl and carpet. While co-ordinat-ing stock requirements for the layers, he is also responsible for ensuring layers have the correct lengths for their respective jobs each day.
