Mr Mark Williams, a foreman-driver with Aztec Haulage, Ltd, loads cans of drink on to a truck after a trailer overturned at the entrance to the Lyttelton Road Tunnel yesterday.

The trailer, loaded with 14 pallets of soft-drink bottles and cans, overturned at the Lyttelton end of the tunnel shortly before 3 p.m., demolishing a set of traffic lights beside the road.

The truck remained upright, and no-one was injured in the accident. Tunnel Control staff diverted traffic round the trailer until 8 p.m. while the trailer was righted and the road cleared.
