Praying man sweats oil
NZPA-AFP Paris Hundreds of pilgrims of different religions have witnessed oil flowing from the hands of a Syrian living here, whenever he prays to the Virgin Mary, close associates of the man claim.
Bassam Assaf, aged 30, a Greek Orthodox, said the Virgin Mary appeared to him on August 12 while he was praying in a
chapel in the home of his employer, a wealthy Syrian businessman. Immediately after, a liquid smelling of olive oil and some other scent that he was unable to identify started pouring from his hands, Mr Assaf says. In all, the Virgin has appeared to him five times in the chapel and oil has flowed from his hands repeatedly, he said.
