Chch singers top country awards
Philip Doublet of Christchurch was the junior-intermediate top over-all performer in the Kiwi Club Country and Western competitions held in Christchurch. A Christchurch duo, Lisa and Maree, won the award for senior top overall performer. Results with competitors being from Christchurch unless otherwise stated, are: Junior solo under 12 years: Puna Teata, 1; Philip Doublet, 2; Rachel McKeitch, 3. Intermediate solo under 16 years: Anne Mauguri, 1; Kerri Soal (Ashburton), 2; Martin Colquhoun, 2. Over 40s: Marie Beattie
(Dunedin), 1; Bev Harland, 2; Sonny Abraham, 3. The highest scoring Kiwi Club member in the over 40s section, who was awarded a sterling silver medallion and chain: Bev Harland.
