Crystal-Lee Emerson, aged one, who is in Brisbane waiting for a lifesaving liver transplant, has now undergone some of the assessments for the surgery. Final assessments for Crystal-Lee, of Christchurch, would be made

at the end of September, said Mr Stuart Barr, president of the Wigram Lions Club. The Wigram club had organised the appeal to send the child and her mother, Mrs Tina Emerson, to Brisbane for the transplant.

Mr Barr said about $lOO,OOO had been estimated as needed for the surgery, air fares and expenses. While the exact total raised is not yet known, Mr Barr said it appeared to be between $106,000 and $107,000.
