Kirwan may be out
PA, Auckland The All Black wing, John Kirwan, who tore a hamstring against North Harbour on Saturday, said yesterday that he may be out for the rest of the Auckland team’s schedule this season. “I came off as a precaution (in the Ranfurly Shield challenge), but the leg does not fee! good. I am keeping ice on it.” Asked whether he would miss the shield challenge by Manawatu next Saturday and perhaps be available for the matches against Otago and Canterbury, he said he might be lucky to play in any of those matches. . ... “I’m so disappointed about all this, and only time will tell.”
