No sighting of child
PA Levin No sighting was made by dusk last evening of an Otaki girl, aged nine, who was swept out to sea from the Otaki rivermouth at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. She was with a whitebaiting party.
An extensive sea, air and shoreline search was made until dark and was to resume at 6.20 a.m. today. Members of the Otaki Life-saving Club used rescue boats and police called in a helicopter from Wellington.
