Gaze maiden profit $52,000
PA - Wellington The Auckland-based in-, terior design company, Gaze Holdings, reports a profit of $52,000 for the six months ended June 30. There are no comparable figures — the company listed in July last year. However, profit in the previous 12 months was $211,000. Turnover was $5533 ($10,856 for 12 months) and the profit before tax was $78,000 ($411,000). Tax took $26,000 ($200,000). Asset realisation of
$45,000 took the bottom line to a profit of $97,000. In the previous 12 months the company deducted $94,000 flotation costs, $90,000 on revaluation of shares, and added $386,000 for property revaluations. This gave a bottom line of $413,000. The managing director, Mr David Gaze, said the board considered the sixmonth results to be satisfactory given the trading conditions. "The company expects to attain a similar level of performance for the second half of the financial year.”
