Aust. deficit widens
NZPA-AAP Canberra Australia’s current account deficit widened to sAustll.9l billion for the year ended June 30, according to revised figures from the Bureau of Statistics. This compares with an sAustll.sl billion shortfall in earlier figures last month, and the Budget forecast last year of an sAustll.s billion current account deficit It is still down on the 1986/87 outcome of a sAustl3.24 billion deficit.
