Scuba diving value
R. and R. Scuba and Ski, the new water sports shop in Manchester Street, has three P.A.D.1.qualified diving instructors offering continuous five-week scuba diving courses. The five-week course involves two three-hour sessions per week, and there is also a course taking two full week-ends, from Friday night to Sunday night, to gain the P.A.D.I. Openwater Certificate The $275 enrolment fee includes the use of all scuba equipment and wetsuits for the duration of
the course, all lectures and pool sessions and four open water dives at the end of the course. Students are expected to provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, booties, gloves, hood, knife and weight belt, but R. and R. Scuba and Ski can arrange snorkeling packages to suit a variety of budgets. Enrolments are taken at the store, or at either of Recycled Recreation’s two stores in Manchester Street and Ricccarton Road. The aim of R. and R. Scuba and Ski’s courses is
to give the best possible value for money, and according to the managing director, Mr Rob Mugford, it is the “little things” which are included in the courses which make all the difference, as well as “honest” advice for students wishing to buy their own equipment at the end of the course. Second only to value — and of course safety — is fun, and the instructors intend to ensure that plenty of this is had both during and after the courses.
