Listener Awards hosts named
Kerry Smith and Dougal Stevenson have been announced as hosts for this year’s Listener Film and Television Awards, to be held on August 31 at the Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington. “Wonderful, terrific!” exclaimed Kerry. “I am looking forward to working with Dougal.” “She’s a bit of a dag, whereas I am a pretty straight person," says Dougal Stevenson. Producer Ron Pledger acknowledges the unusual combination and is con-
vinced the couple will do an excellent job. “Dougal has extensive experience in television presenting. I have a lot of respect for his work and he adds a formality to the whole procedure which is in keeping with the style of this year’s show. “It is also nice to have Kerry Smith who has high profile at the moment and was involved in one of Television New Zealand’s major dramas for last year.” Smith plays journalist Magda McGrath in “Gloss.”
