Theft blow to Steiner school
A theft at the week-end has come as an extra blow for the Rudolf Steiner School which is struggling for financial survival.
The school’s music studio was stripped of its contents some time during the week-end, said the school’s music teacher, Mr Thomas Proctor, last evening.
Trumpets, violins, percussion instruments and electronic equipment were stolen.
The theft of recording gear was “tragic” for the sixth formers who were using it to record their compositions, said Mr Proctor.
It was especially difficult as the school was
struggling for financial survival and could not afford to replace any of the equipment. He appealed to anyone who could help out with some replacement gear. The Rudolf Steiner School has been in the news recently because of its financial problems, caused in part by some parents not paying fees.
But Mr Proctor said there had been a great response to the school’s crisis, and "we are on the way out of trouble.”
The theft had been like getting a foot caught in a rabbit hole while running a race, he said.
The school had no contents insurance.
