Anakiwa esteemed

The number of international students attending New Zealand’s Outward Bound School at Anakiwa shows the high standing in which it is held throughout the world, according to Ms Shona Brown, of the Outward Bound Trust.

Malaysian and Australian students took part in courses earlier this year and during the past month four students from North America have experienced New Zealand winter conditions while taking part in the challenges of the 24-day course at Anakiwa. Ms Brown said that one was a young man from Canada who had chosen to spend his summer vacation in New Zealand before beginning physical education training in London. There is also a high school graduate from Massachusetts, a triathlon specialist front Oklahoma and a young woman from New Mexico who is spending a year at school in Tauranga. These students added to the breadth of personal understanding gained by all students during an Outward Bound course, said Ms Brown.
