Cervical test need
PA Auckland Health professionals should meet the challenge of establishing a national cervical screening programme, says the Auckland division of the Cancer Society. National screening should be set up immediately, said the divisional president, Dr George Hitchcock. Establishment of such a programme was recom-
mended by Judge Silvia Cartwright in her report on cancer treatment at National Women's Hospital. The report, released last week, has been supported by the society’s Auckland division. “All recommendations should be instituted forthwith, and the lessons to be learned from study of this document should be reinforced in the future,” Dr Hitchcock said.
