News office to close
PA Wellington N.Z. Newspapers, Ltd, will close its bureau in Wellington after purchase by Independent Newspapers, Ltd, of the "Auckland Star,” “Sunday Star” and “Taranaki Newspapers,” Ltd. The main casualty will be the news bureau, set up to supply all newspapers and magazines in the group.
