Star Watch fit
NZPA-AAP Sydney The Golden Slipper winner, Star Watch, a shock scratching from the San Domenico Stakes at Warwick Farm last Saturday with a high temperature, showed his recovery was complete with an impressive win at the Randwick barrier trials yesterday. The Tommy Smithtrained colt was unextended to beat Full And By, which finished a close second to Merimbula Bay in the San Domenico Stakes.
Star Watch, ridden by Mick Dittman, was kept just off the pace before being allowed to run to the line to beat Full And By (John Marshall) by a head with Comical King (Larry Olsen) threequarters of a length away third in 48.15. Star Watch and Full And By are set to clash in the sAust6o,ooo Up And Coming Stakes (1200 m at Warwick Farm today week along with the surprise San Domenico victor, Merimbula Bay.
