The Conqueror

By

Samuel Tait,

aged 7, of Christchurch.

There once lived a king who had a lot of enemies. All his enemies had traps and catapults and bows and arrows and swords.

The king called for his “Royal Messenger” and whispered to him to bring the guards.

“Go to the Power of Wisdom, and the three Gods will give you some special magic powder,” he ordered. So the guards went to the "Power of Wisdom.” When they finally reached there, the guards said, “The King has sent us.”

“I know — I read the king’s mind,” said the “Power of Wisdom.” “The three Gods have made this powder.” “But it’s only dust!” said the guards. “No, it isn’t,” said the “Power of Wisdom.” “If you sprinkle it on a frog, it will turn into a huge giant and will kill all the enemies in your land. “He will be called ‘The Conqueror!!”’
