Moller wins race
PA Washington Lorraine Moller won a Colorado half-marathon in course record time yesterday in her last bid to try to make the New Zealand Seoul Olympics team.
Hoping to show the New Zealand selectors that she would be fit enough to run in the Olympic marathon, Moller finished the Idaho Springs half-marathon in a time of one hour 14.57 minutes, breaking the previous course record of 1:17.35. The half-marathon was a local race held at an altitude of 8000 ft. Barbara Moore, another New Zealander based in Colorado, was second in 1:16.55 while Lisa Mills, of the United States, was third in 1:17.32.
The men’s race was won by Dick LeDoux, of the United States, with a time of 1:07.29.
