Hibbert powers to win
Craig Hibbert (Linwood) collected a worthy win over the former New Zealand representative, Tony Naughton (Mana), in the men’s final of the Burnside Open squash tournament yesterday. It was a gruelling affair for the most part with Hibbert’s power a decisive factor in the closing stages, though the Wellington man showed he still had good touch. Hibbert won 6-9, 9-4, 9-6, 9-1. The younger player also prevailed in the women’s final, Tracie Baldwin (Marist) overcoming Kathy Hargreaves (Burnside, five times a South Island champion, 7-9, 9-4, 9-4, 9-0. j> Results:—Men
