Support for choir
Sir,—lt was indeed good news to read of the New Zealand Youth Choir’s successes on their current overseas tour (July 23). A first place in a major international competition in Vienna and two second places in a similar event in Wales are very fine achievements. These talented choristers are proving to be very worthy ambassadors for their country and deserve every support and encouragement. I suggest that, should readers feel so inclined to write, it would be much appreciated by the choir and their conductor, Professor Peter Godfrey, if they received letters of support from New Zealand. As it takes about two weeks for mail to reach the choir, the following address for August 8 and 9 should serve: National Youth Choir of New Zealand, Hotel Atlantico, Ponte del Rimedio, 30122 Venice, Italy. — Yours etc., JOHN EMELEUS. July 24, 1988.
