R.S.L. back in House
The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Bolger, has alleged that the Minister of Justice, Mr Palmer, misled Parliament about the financial health of the Auckland contributory-mortgage company, Registered Securities, Ltd. Mr Palmer said yesterday that the Registrar of Companies had filed a petition in Auckland to wind up Registered Securities, with an application for the appointment of a provisional liquidator. The major contributory mortgage company consented to this appointment and Mr Justice Tompkins made the order late yesterday. Mr Bolger alleged that on June 8 and July 13 Mr Palmer had told Parliament that investments in Registered Securities were secure.
