Ashburton undecided
A report in “The Press” yesterday on Local Government Commission proposals had the headline that Ashburton was angered about the proposal. In fact, the Ashburton County and Ashburton Borough councils have yet to meet to discuss it. The Mayor of Ashburton, Mr Geoff Geering, said that the Borough Council would discuss the proposal at this evening’s finance and policies committee meeting.
