Christchurch seminar on farm finance
A seminar on farming has been organised by “The Press,” in association with North Canterbury Federated Farmers for Thursday, August 18. Farm financing and farming for profit and cashflow will be the main themes of the seminar to be held in the James Hay Theatre at 1 p.m. The seminar will emphasise the positive as-
pects of farming and take a forward view of the industry. The programme will include a speaker from Wrightsons who will talk about the role of seasonal financiers, a look at what the Budget means for farming, and an address by a farm accountant. Mr Ness Wright, president of North Canterbury Federated Farmers, has
welcomed the idea of a Christchurch farming seminar. It would enable farmers to listen to financial experts give their views on the rural debt crisis and help farmers look at ways to cope with the new commercial environment. Details of speakers and how to register for the seminar will be printed on Friday.
