Cobergers in ski-racing team
Two New Zealand women’s A team members, Adele and Annelise Coberger, are among the skiers in the race teams named yesterday by. the Canterbury Ski Association for the 1988 season. A feature of the Canterbury teams is the inclusion of ski-racers from the Nelson and Tekapo areas.
The teams are:Canterbury team: Girls: Adele Coberger, Annelise Coberger, Alice Gilroy, Juliet lohnston, Juliet Satterthwaite. Boys: Stefan Coberger, Guy Davies, Ricky Johnson, Chris Knight, Guy Saxton. Development team: Girls: Kate Askew (Nelson), Hana Coberger, Pip Matheson, Gabriel Satterthwaite, Julia Walker. Boys: Dominic Adams, Connel Burke, Christian Burtscher (Tekapo), Toby Buxton, Andrew Gooding. .
The convener of the C.S.A.’s racing committee, Peter Molloy, expressed gratitude for the continued sponsorship of Dominion Breweries. He said the sponsorship and association with Kiwi Lager had assisted with the training and development of ski-racing at all levels in Canterbury. Racers named in the teams will be able to train
under any programme approved by the C.S.A., including that of their own clubs. Meanwhile, the 1988 race calendar is scheduled to begin with two giant slaloms at Mount Hutt this week-end. They are part of the Kiwi Lager series. The lack of snow at many Canterbury fields has restricted training opportunities
