Successful farewell
Jack Carmichael was successful in his last race drive when steering Haughty Nugent to victory in the Paint ‘N’ Polish Mobile Pace at the New Brighton Harness Racing Club’s meeting at Addington Raceway last evening. Carmichael, who had registered a second and
three thirds from eight drives earlier in the evening, improved the Peter Ryder-trained Haughty Nugent to sit parked over the last 1200 m. The Noodlum filly powered clear in the run home and beat the favourite, Belle Hattan, by one and three-quarter lengths.
