Health ehecks for young children
Free health tests for pre-schoolers will be given by the Plunket Society at the Brake Street Hall, Upper Riccarton, on Thursday. The nurse advisor for the society in Canterbury, Mrs Ellenor Mayo, said the tests would include developmental and
physical assessments, and growth, hearing and vision checks. A range of health professionals would attend and parents could discuss aspects of their child’s health, said Mrs Mayo. Children who have the health check would receive a sticker and bal-
loon and could have their faces painted, she said. The check is free and open to all pre-school children, aged about three and a half. Mrs Mayo said that more health check days were planned for the other society districts in Canterbury.
