Burglars take school computers
PA Wellington Otaki primary schoolchildren have lost their hard-won computers in the latest in a string of burglaries to hit Otaki School. The two computers and printers, valued at $4OOO, went missing on Sunday night. Otaki School’s committee had organised gala days and raffles to buy the computers. Last week two other burglaries left the school
without its video camera and guitar. Both had been paid for using fundraising money. Also missing was money from a canteen fund, the profits of which were to have been put back into the school. Sergeant Keith Revell, of the Otaki police, said he regarded the thefts as “particularly low” and done by someone with no regard to the community’s efforts to help its children.
