Abortion rate up?
PA Wellington Women will find it harder to get adequate protection against pregnancy and the abortion rate can be expected to rise, a medical spokesman for the Family Planning Association, Dr Helen Roberts, said yesterday. Provisional figures from the Abortion Supervisory Committee have shown that 8987 terminations were done in N.ew Zealand last year, against 8056 in 1986 and 7839 in 1985.
